Alex is a proud husband and father who returned to El Paso after law school to give back to the community that made him who he is. Alex’s Dad, Arturo, was a Vietnam Veteran who served as an Airborne Firefighter in the US Air Force and then went on to serve as a Civil Servant for over 25 years, and who then served as a labor union business representative with the the Local 351: Union of Operating Engineers. Alex’s Mom, Patricia, was a Paraprofessional with Special Education classes at Ross Middle School and Bonham Elementary and has since retired from EPISD. Alex’s brother, Adrian, is a Commander and Psychiatrist with the US Navy. Alex is a career civil servant with El Paso County, starting his career as an Investigator with the El Paso County Public Defender’s Office. Alex has also served as an Assistant District Attorney and Assistant County Attorney handling civil matters relating to El Paso County Government functions. Currently, Alex also serves as a School Board Trustee for El Paso ISD and works tirelessly in this volunteer role to ensure that the students, faculty, staff and communities of El Paso ISD are given equitable access to all educational resources.

Alex is running for 171st District Court to bring respect, integrity, and professionalism back to the 171st District Court by following the law at all times, ensuring all parties are treated with dignity and respect, and by adhering to high ethical standards.

“The 171st District Court handles all levels of felony cases and civil cases as well. The judge of this court must adhere to the highest of ethical standards and must follow the law at all times. I will remain impartial and neutral towards all cases and parties, as the law demands it. The people of El Paso County deserve a leader who holds everyone to high standards and accountability, I am invested in leading with my professional background in upholding the law and every decision or ruling I make will be made with three priorities in mind: Integrity, Justice, and Respect.”
